Document Information
1. Purpose
This WPdealer Backup & Compatibility Policy defines the minimum measures that the Customer and any Web Agency managing the Customer’s website must adopt before installing, updating or modifying the Software.
Its purpose is to reduce the risk of data loss, service interruption, compatibility issues and unsuccessful updates.

Before installing, updating or modifying the Software, the Customer shall create a complete and current backup of the website.
The backup should include, where applicable:
- the complete WordPress database;

- retain at least one backup copy outside the production server;
- test the restoration procedure whenever reasonably possible;
- retain the backup until the update has been fully verified.
4. Staging Environment
For production websites, updates should be tested in a staging or development environment before being applied to the live website whenever reasonably possible.
The staging environment should reproduce the production configuration closely enough to allow meaningful testing of the Software, WordPress, WooCommerce, PHP, the active theme and relevant third-party plugins.
5. Compatibility Verification
Before updating the Software, the Customer or Web Agency should verify compatibility between WPdealer and the main components of the website environment, including:

Failure to create an appropriate backup before installing, updating or modifying the Software constitutes a failure to comply with this Policy.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Licensor shall not be liable for data loss, website interruption, restoration costs or other damage where the Customer or Web Agency failed to create and retain an adequate backup before the relevant operation.
